Another First

We experienced another first last night, baby food.  Hudson's pediatrician said we could start baby food when we went for his 4 month visit, or we could wait.  To be honest I think baby food is kind of a pain, so I have been putting it off.  He has had such a big appetite lately I thought would we should start on something more solid in hopes of filling him up.  We tried oatmeal last week, but he was not having any part of it.  She told me to start with a veggie and give him the same flavor for a week, and then move on to the next for a week.  This process will help determine if he has any food allergies.  We started out with green beans, I figured why not start out with what most babies think is the worst.  He did OK, of course he made funny faces, and didn't like it at first.  He only had a few bites, and was done with it, we are going to give it another try tonight.  Here are a few pictures I snapped during the feeding.

Interesting fact: My sister's pediatrician told her that breastfed babies are more likely to have more of a variety in their diet.  Formula consistently stays the same, but your breast milk varies in taste depending on what you eat, therefore breastfed babies are more willing to try a different things.  Not sure how true it is, but it makes sense to me.
