Life Lately.....

Has been a whirlwind to say the least.  I feel like we blew through August in the blink of an eye.  Which means, my sweet boy will be two next month.  I'm not quite sure how that is even possible.  I will say, we are feeling the effects of the "terrible two's" in full force.  I can handle a lot, but nothing makes me more crazy than fits for no reason at all.  I know this too shall pass, but lord help me in the meantime.  We are so fortunate to have a park in walking distance, thanks to this mild summer we have spent LOTS of afternoons there.  Just to get out of the house, and keep me sane.  A new splash park opened near our house, so my sister and I took the kids one Friday afternoon.  Hudson LOVED it, he usually loses interest with stuff pretty quick, but he played so well there.

We also went to the fair this month.  The Wilson County Fair has always been a tradition of ours, and I dreamed of the day I would take my child to ride all the rides, and see the animals.  Well, Hudson smashed that dream.  He was in constant meltdown mode, due to the ATV's everywhere.  That is his favorite thing to do at the farm, and he could not understand why he couldn't get on every single one that went by.  He  refused to ride in his stroller, cried on the one ride we were able to get him on, and pretty much made it miserable for all parties involved.  The only thing he enjoyed was the little tractor in the petting zoo.  Maybe next year.

I met up with several of the girls from church a couple of Saturdays ago to run the 70s themed "Back in the day 5K."  I am here to tell you all, it is hard to find 70s workout gear, 80s would have been much easier.  I had not ran in quite some time, and knew it would not be pretty.  I didn't put any pressure on myself, and ended up finishing in a little over 36 minutes.  Not great, but not terrible considering zero prep.  Now I am motivated to get my butt back in gear, and improve my time.  If you remember I ran my first 5K on Thanksgiving last year, and now I am motivated to beat that time this year.

Hudson has been climbing on everything for quite some time, and he is obsessed with the tv.  I caught him doing this the other day.  Its only a matter of time before he hurts himself.

My friends Leigh and Ali both had birthdays a few weeks ago.  We met them out for dinner Friday night, and had a blast.  Leigh and Gregg live in FL, I was so happy they came in town for the weekend, so I could get my fix.

We walked to the restaurant...be still my heart.

Poor Bella takes so much abuse from Hudson.  He loves her so much, and doesn't realize pulling her tail, and jumping on top of her is not playing.  She is so good with him, and takes it like a champ.  If you are thinking of getting a dog, and want one that is good with kids, Boxer's all the way!  I never ever worry about her snapping at him, or getting irritated.

I went in Hudson's room yesterday, and he was laying in the floor with a paci in his mouth.  He doesn't even suck a paci.  He looked like such a little baby,I snapped a few pictures, so I can look at them when I am crying over him turning two.  He will always be my sweet baby boy.

I also went to Asheville for our annual girls trip this month, but that will be a separate post.  I think that catches us up for now!
