3 Years Old

Today my Huddy buddy is three.  My mom asked me how it makes me feel.  I'm not one to define my life by age or time.  I just feel so proud to be his mom, and survived these last three years.

Hudson,
You my friend have made life so rich these past three years.  You have also made them interesting to say the least.  You never cease to amaze us.  I went against the advice of a lot of people and put you in speech therapy at 2 years old.  I am so glad I didn't listen to those people, because it was the best decision I have ever made.  You speak better than a lot of kids your age, and I cannot thank your speech therapist enough for all she did for us.  There are times I wish you still could not talk.  Lord help me, because I am getting paid back for my smart mouth.  My mouth got me in more trouble than anything, and I have a feeling you will be the same way.  I even find myself doing the same thing my mom did when I would smart off, and pop you in the mouth.  The upside is I don't think I will ever have to worry about people getting over on you.

You are still 110% boy.  If it can be climbed you are on it.  We are in the process of looking for a new house, and one of my main requirements is great outdoor space.  I need to get able to send you outside to burn off some energy.  I am sure Sully won't be far behind you.

Speaking of Sully, you have really started to love him.  You refer to him as "my baby."  Everything is "my baby."  You boss me around and tell me exactly how to take care of your baby.

You are still into EVERYTHING, and have earned the name "Hurricane Hudson."

You started preschool in August and you absolutely love it.  You told your teacher last week "my mommy pooped in the potty."  Appreciate that buddy .  That was one of those times I preferred you didn't talk.  You told her yesterday "my peoples don't have a house to live in."  I am sure Ms. Heather wonders what the heck goes on at home.  You told me the other day that Abby was your "girlfriend."  Have fun taking that up with pastor Chris.

You love to "fight" with your daddy, and Sullivan loves watching.

You continue to cover everything in powder every chance you get.  The day we moved into Nana and Paw Paw's you thought it was necessary christen their house.  At this point I blame mom and dad for not putting it away.

The same goes for my make-up.

We went to the dentist for your first cleaning the other day.

You were so polite, and behaved so well.  We left there and I had a moment of "maybe I am doing something right."  Then as I was making dinner you do this

You knocked me off of my high horse real quick.

You LOVE being outside.  You would live out there if you could.  The bugs love you just as much.  If there is a mosquito in a 5 mile radius, it will find you.

You love church, and it makes me so happy when you ask to go. Now that you are three you get to go to children's church.

You are so much like me it scares me for the future.  However, you have my sense of humor.  You are hilarious, and make us laugh daily.

You have your dads soft side.  For all the times you can make me question my sanity,  you can be the sweetest thing ever.  I can yell at you non stop all afternoon.  As soon as you decide you want to settle down and cuddle, all of the anger and frustration goes away.

You STILL sleep with us.  I am waiting for your brother to get bigger, so you can harass him all night.

You are still not a huge eater.  You are picky. I give up.

You and Maddie still fight like crazy, and love each other more than anything.

We woke you up bright and early this morning to give you your new bike.  You are so into the movie Cars right now, so you love your bike!  We had our usual pancake breakfast, and sang Happy Birthday about 5 times.

Hudson,
You are the light of our lives,  I cannot imagine how dull our life would be without you in it.  I often joke about how big of a mess you are, but I would not have it any other way.  You keep us on our toes, and laughing constantly.  We have no idea what we are doing as parents most of the time, but then there are moments where i feel like we are doing something right.  You are so sweet to other children, and respectful to adults.  I know that you know right from wrong, and I hope you always do.  We cannot wait to watch you grow, and see what is in store for us this next year!  Happy Birthday Buddy!
