36 Weeks

I am NINE MONTHS pregnant with Hudson today!  In some ways I cannot believe it and others it seems like it took forever to get here. We traveled to Dyersburg, TN over the weekend for a wedding, and had such a good time seeing everyone, but no more trips for this lady.  I think the car ride and staying in a hotel room took its toll on me, because my whole body hurts today....or it could be due to the fact that I am about to have a baby.  When we got home yesterday I had to get ready and head to Luke's grandmothers for our second shower. With the exception of one thing, we got everything that we had left on our "must have" before Hudson gets here list.  I have been telling people that I am not ready yet, but for some reason today I feel like I am ready for him to be here.  I am not sure why, because we still have a list a mile long of things to get done, but I would be OK if we didn't get it all done.  I am going to work in his nursery this week getting things organized, washing, putting away, and packing our hospital bags.  I will feel good if I can get all of this accomplished this week, and my dad is going to start working in his bookshelves this weekend.  I have a feeling he will be here before his nursery looks the way I want it to, but I am OK with that too.

Total Weight Gain: I had gained a pound when I went to the Dr. last week, so I am up to 31 lbs.  This is more than I would like at this point, but I am so over worrying about it.  I always hear about people being asked how much weight they have gained, and I couldn't believe that it actually happened that often.  Well I got to experience it first hand the week, and its not so much about being asked that was weird, it was the fact that it was a total stranger.  Not only did she ask how much I had gained, but she then asked how much I weighed before I was pregnant, I was so caught off guard that I just answered her, but I was so shocked.  I never thought I would feel the way I did when someone asked, because have been an open book this whole pregnancy, and I do put it on the Internet, but none the less it took me back a few steps.

Sleep: Sleep is about the same this week, not sleeping great, but getting enough to feel rested.  We have been having a problem with me snoring for a while now, and Luke wakes up being Oscar the grouch because he says he doesn't get any sleep due to my snoring.  I am not even sure why it has to be an argument because I have told him I don't mind if he is sleeps in the other room, and there is NOTHING that I can do about snoring.  I have tried breathe right strips, but when everything is pushed up I don't think anything will work at this point.  He has tried sleeping on the couch, but he says he can't get any sleep there either, so I have no idea what a solution would be, but if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Food/Eating: I feel like the farther along I get in this pregnancy the less I eat.  I have also noticed that my cravings are way more intense and frequent now.  Last Monday night, I either had a bug or ate something that didn't agree with me, because I started throwing up about 9:00 and could not stop until around 11:00.  I didn't work on Tuesday, and was feeling better by Wednesday.  Poor Luke was such a trooper, and took such good care of me.

Movement: I can definitely tell that he has slowed down on his moving.  I can still feel him, but it is nothing like it used to be.  I can just feel him stretching and getting comfortable now.

Progress: Now that I am going to the Dr every week I thought I would update you all on any progress.  She checked me this week, and first off let me say, I don't know what I was so worried about, because it was nothing.  She said I have not started to dilated yet, but my cervix is starting to soften.  She said he is head down, and probably about 5.5 lbs from what she could tell just feeling outside of my stomach.  All of those are good signs that I am progressing toward labor.  My mom and Luke's family all think that I will have him before my due date, but I am not quite sold on that yet.  I will say he dropped over the weekend, and I feel like I have bowling ball between my legs.  I am starting to feel pressure in my pelvic area, and I have to pee all.the.time, like every time I stand up.  I know these things are all normal and can happen up to four weeks before I have him, so it doesn't necessarily mean I am about to go into labor early or anything.  I go back Wednesday so we will see if I have made anymore progress.

What I miss: I had a mini meltdown on Saturday morning when I was getting ready, because I could not put my shoes on.  So I guess you could say I miss just being able to do normal day to day things.

What I am looking forward to: Getting all of his things organized and put away this week.

Best Moment of the Week: We went and toured the new hospital and met with our pediatrician last week.  We loved the Dr and are pretty sure that will be Hudson pediatrician.  I feel so much better after visiting the new hospital and I pre-registered.  They told us where I would go if I went into labor after normal hours, and that made us feel better just seeing where to go, and having a plan.

I am ashamed to say that I went to a wedding and had a baby shower this weekend, and did not get a good picture of us this week.  I was so worn out yesterday I just wanted to sit and relax, so I do have this not so great picture of me sitting down, but you can get the idea :).
