Progressive Dinner Party

Have any of you ever attended a progressive dinner party?  If not, I urge you to gather up some friends, and do this.  We had so much fun with this, and have already planned our next dinner for October.  My sister and two of her best friends all live on the same street, how awesome is that?  We started the night out at Gina's with appetizers and wine.

A rare thing happened, and we actually got a picture together.

The guys wanted to do an awkward pose.

Next up we walked to my sisters house where she and I served the entree.  We made Beef Bourguignon, and let me tell you, if you want to make a dinner to impress, this is your dish my friends.  It was fabulous, and everyone raved over it.  I will warn you it is probably the most labor intensive meal I have ever made, but well worth it.  You can find the recipe on my friend Katie's blog here.   We sort of threw the dinner together last minute, so we didn't have an overall theme for this one, but Ashley and I decided our theme was "Fall."  Everyone had to make a signature drink with their meal, and we made Honey Apple Crisp Sangria.   Perfect pairing for a hearty fall meal.

This is what her counter looked like the night before when we were cooking.

Ashley and I decided we wanted to have a little fun. and have props at our stop in the dinner (can you tell we were sorority girls?)  We bought the fake mustaches, and they were an even bigger hit than the meal.  We had so much fun with them.

The kids even got in on the action.
After having way too much fun at my sisters we walked to Leah and JD's for dessert.  This is when the party was bumped up a notch.  Leah served this amazing pineapple/cake dessert with a champagne cocktail.

Beer and Diapers.....always prepared.

Thank goodness we took our props with us, and continued to have fun with them the rest of the night

We all agreed that this was one of the best things we have ever done.  We are planning on doing it every month now with different themes.  Next up, we are doing a Halloween theme!  My sister and I are doing appetizers, so any suggestions would be great!
