New Year's Resolution.......FAIL

One of my New Year's resolutions was to blog more and I have obviously failed miserably.  As a matter of fact I think I have gone backwards.  So I am going to vow to really make a conscience effort to stay on top of my blogging.  Everyone has been asking about the weight loss contest and yes we are still doing it, and everyone is doing great!  I plan on doing  a week by week update and get everyone up to speed on the results.  This past weekend we went to Dayton, OH to visit my best friend Katie and had an absolute blast!  We got there late Thursday night and just chatted for a bit and went to bed.  We got up early Friday morning and set out for the National Air Force Museum.  Katie has been telling me about this place since she moved to Dayton and I had no idea the magnitude of this museum, it was absolutely incredible.  We went in and realized that it would take probably two days to cover all of the museums that were offered, so we chose the two that we thought would interest us the most the WWII and Presidential hangers.  We went to the WWII museum first and it was filled with facts and every sort of airplane that was flown during WWII.  After about an hour we boarded a bus and headed to the Presidential museum which was my personal favorite.  They had Truman, Roosevelt, and Kennedy's Air Force One airplanes.  It was so neat to get to stand in the spot where Johnson was sworn in after Kennedy's assassination and see where they removed two rows of seats to make room for the body, because Jackie didn't want it to be stowed under the plane with the rest of the cargo.  Another fun fact we learned was Jackie Kennedy created the logo and decor for Air Force One.  Saturday night we had one of the best meals I have had in a very long time.  We went to a restaurant called Savona that Katie had been wanting to try for some time, and it did not disappoint.  The chef made pretty much everything in house, and everything was locally grown and so fresh.  We started with the brie and fig flat bread, and for our meals I had smothered sirloin tips which were sirloin tops, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and blue cheese....AMAZING!  Luke had the Vermont cheddar burger which was the best burger any of us had ever eaten and of course it came with homemade french fries.  Katie had the mac n cheese topped with scallops.  Since we had already felt like we went all out we said "go big or go home" and got dessert, the three of us shared the flour less chocolate cake and the tiramisu.  The chocolate cake was one of the chef's specialities and the waitress called it the "one bite wonder" which was true because that was all it took so satisfy a sweet tooth.  So needless to say we were all on food coma's and went to bed early that night.  If you ever go to Dayton I would definitely recommend Savona, and the prices were very reasonable as well.  I think one of the reasons I have not blogged much is because my camera bit the dust, but I am no longer going to use that as an excuse and you all will be hearing from me more often I promise.  I asked for a new camera for my bday so hopefully in March I will be back to adding pictures to my posts.  I hope everyone has a great weekend, and if you live in Middle Tennessee enjoy the snow!
