St. Patty's Day

I have to admit St. Patrick's Day is one of my all time favorite holidays.  I love the colors, it is usually getting warm, and who doesn't love green beer?  We decided to have our third progressive dinner the Saturday before to celebrate the holiday.  These things are an absolute blast, insert a Harlem shake video, and more guests, this may have been the best yet.  We all clearly know how to have a good time, and never take ourselves too serious.  My sister and I hosted dessert this time, and I have to give Ashley all the credit.  I had a wisdom tooth taken out a few days before, so I was of no help.  Not to mention I hate baking.  Love to cook, hate to bake.  Everything is too precise.  Our dish turned out so cute!  I wish I could give an opinion on how it tasted, but I never even took a bite of it.  I didn't really get to enjoy the food as much at this one, because I was still on soft foods.  Which is why I only have pictures of our dish.  Here is the menu for the night.  Appetizers: scotch eggs, rainbow fruit skewers, and asparagus wrapped in crescent rolls.  Main Dish: Corn beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots.  Dessert: mint brownie trifle.

Our signature drink was a Grasshopper......

and what St Patty's Day party would be complete
without Irish Car Bombs :)

The ladies drink at the first stop was a Midori mimosa.
If you have not tried this you need to.

Oh you know, just gathering props for our video.

A little liquid courage is a must.

We had so much fun with this, I cannot wait for our next dinner for Cinco De Mayo.  I have already started browsing the Internet for fun dishes.

I am slowly but surely going to get my blog up to date.  Stay tuned for my 30th birthday post!

First Haircut.

Remember me?  I had several friends tell me my blog was out of date, and I needed to blog more.  I have had so much going on, and honestly the task of catching my blog up has been daunting.  As looked through my last few posts I remembered why I bog, and I want to document all of these memories.  My next few post will be back tracking, and potentially out of order, but I want to get caught up before Hudson's 18 month check up.  How is it possible that is a week away?

We took Hudson to get his hair cut a while back, and I have to say he did better than I thought.  By that I mean, he didn't scream his head off.  That doesn't she didn't have to chase him around like an animal to get the job done, but she handled it with grace.  We should have thought to give him the candy beforehand.  Once he was done I felt a overwhelming sense of sadness come over me.  He no longer looked like my baby.  He was a little boy.

Before.

I made sure she knew we wanted to keep some of his curls

Such a handsome little devil.  We are already due for another haircut soon, hopefully he does as well as the last time.
