A night to remember...

Well my bridesmaids outdid themselves yet again this past weekend.  I could not have asked for a better bachelorette party!  A little guilty pleasure of mine are tabloids and celebrity gossip, so the overall theme was "Amber's Pink Carpet Event".  They took the idea and had such cute details to go with it.  I won't go into complete detail since I gave you all a rundown last week of what we were during, but it was for sure a night for the record books!  I cannot thank my bridesmaids and everyone who came enough!!

How cute are these magazine covers that my friend Katie had
                                                                      one of her friends make??

The cute little champagne bottles for everyone

The bridesmaids did the "panty poem" which was so cute!

When I walked outside to go to  the limo I had my own pink carpet
Ready to hit the town

Time to Let Loose

With everything that has been going on with the house, and all the stress of wedding planning this weekend could not have come at a better time.  That's right its time to be with all my best friends and have one last fling....my bachelorette weekend!!  Other than the big day this is probably what I have been looking forward to the most since I got engaged way back when =).  I have to best friends in the world, and cannot wait to be with them this weekend, we are kicking the weekend off with a cookout at our house tonight.  Just a little relaxing night of corn hole and a few adult beverages.  Then tomorrow we go our separate ways, the boys will be golfing, and the ladies will be lounging by the pool sipping cocktails.  Then we will head to the Indigo hotel to get dolled up for dinner at Wine Loft.  Next up...back to the hotel for a lingerie and pre party, then hit the town and see where the night takes us!  I am so excited for a night out with my girls, and I'm sure there will be pictures to come next week.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Weigh in Wednesday!

It's time for Mrs. Southerland's WIW.  I am ashamed to say that I have not been keeping up as I said I would, however with my wedding being three short weeks away (yikes) I need to be held accountable!  I continue to do boot camp three days a week, and have just about cut out all carbs in an attempt to get the weight off faster.  However last week I weighed 149.5, and when I went to boot camp this morning I am at 149=(.  I am not going to let it get me down, because even though I am not seeing it on the scale I feel great!  I actually had to go shopping last weekend for some new clothes, because mine were falling off of me.  So I'm hoping that I am gaining some muscle and that's what is slowing the weight loss down.  My goal is to be at 140 by wedding day!  I will be so happy with myself, because that will be 30 lbs total=).  I will still be 10 lbs from the ultimate goal, but I cannot beat myself up for not getting there before the wedding, because I do not planning on stopping just because my wedding is over.  Thanks for the words of encouragement they really do help!!

Couples Shower

I have not had a chance to post about our couples shower, because it was the day of the flood so things have been a little crazy.  Our friends Matt, Emily, Brittany, and Michael threw it for us, and it was wonderful!!  Since we had it on derby day it was only fitting for it to be derby themed.  Luckily Matt and Emily have a house that could accommodate everyone being inside, and despite the weather we all had such a good time.
                                                                     My handsome man=)

I don't know what I would do without my sister!

                                                            My best friends

The details were so cute!

Derby pie is a must!

I had to show the gift my future sister-in-law made me, she had our invite framed.  I absolutely loved it!

Luke was so excited to finally get to open some gifts.

I cannot thank our friends enough for such a wonderful shower, we are so blessed!

Time to FREAK OUT!!

I cannot believe I'm posting this, but I am getting married ONE MONTH from today!!!  I never thought this day would come, and I know this next month is going to fly by!  I have quite a few last minute details to tend to so I'm sure I will be stressed, but hopefully I can make it through this without any major meltdowns=)

Invites are OUT!!

Well thank goodness before my life turned into complete chaos my invitations were sent out!  When I had my first planning session picked these out, and I was a little worried, because I was so overwhelmed that day, that I didn't know if I took enough time picking them out.  I knew I wanted something bright and fun, and could not have been more pleased with the way they turned out!

I am so fortunate to have a really good friend that does calligraphy, and I knew right away I wanted her to address me invitations. because she does such amazing work!  If you or anyone you know needs calligraphy done, check our her adorable website here. I was so pleased with how they turned out.  Natasha I can not thank you enough for taking the stress of addressing the invites off of me=)

Flood

Well as everyone knows by now Nashville suffered a devastating blow to our beautiful city this past weekend.  I won't go into detail because I am SURE everyone has seen lots of pictures and heard all about it.  Unfortunately Luke and I were victims of the massive amounts of rain.  Luke woke up at 6:30 Sunday morning, and everything was normal in the house....fast forward two short hours, we woke up and go into our kitchen and look down in the den(which is an addition and used to be a garage), and there are my beautiful hardwood floors that have JUST been installed FLOATING in about 2 feet of water!  So immediately we starting freaking out and trying to get the water out, and at this point we had no idea that Nashville was just about under water.  Luke figured out the water was coming from the back of the house and started digging trenches in the back your to direct the water around the house instead of straight in the back.  The way our house is set up you walk in the front door that used to be the garage and go through the den, and there is a laundry room straight back, and a mud room to the left off of the laundry room, and then a door to the back patio.  They finally got the water to stop coming in, and we began pushing the water out, keep in mind the front door is open the entire time all this madness is going and water is pouring out, so who knows how high it would have gotten.  We would have never been able to get through this without the help of our wonderful, friends, family, and neighbors who were there within minutes to help us, we realized how truly blessed we are to have such wonderful people in our lives and could never thank them enough for the help.  Thank goodness the den, laundry, and mud rooms are all below the rest of the house so all the water was contained to those rooms.  We could never be upset or complain about our house when you see people who have literally lost everything, not to mention people lost their lives.  Luckily we did not have any furniture in the den yet, because we had JUST finished the floors.  My only complaint to mother nature is your timing really sucked ha.  I finally felt like there was light at the end of the tunnel with that being the last room left to renovate, and it was almost done.  Not to mention our wedding is a little over a month away.  In the grand  scheme of things it is all very trivial and I feel so blessed, because it could have been so much worse.  Now that I have rambled on forever here are some pictures(i don't have any from when it first happened, because in a panic I grabbed my old camera so they are all on it).
poor jax is so confused...yes that is the surprise we
got when we pulled up the carpet before the hardwood
went down...checkered tile ha ha.  I can't wait to look
at that for the next few months...
after all the water is out

I hope everyone is having a great week!
