Rain Rain Go Away.....

I am very excited about this weekend, because for one my best friend Katie is coming in from Dayton, and two we are having our couples shower!!  I am so pumped about the theme....DERBY!  I never really got into derby until I went to school in KY, because its not as celebrated here in TN, but now I live for derby day every year!  I love getting all dressed up, and wearing a hat, and we are actually having a hat contest.  I can't wait for all of our friends and family to get together and enjoy mint juleps.  I am really worried about the rain being that there is a 100% chance of rain......however  I am not going to let it ruin my time, and luckily we have a back up plan. I hope everyone has  a wonderful weekend!

Weight Loss Journey

I have been very bad about updating about my weight loss as I had promised, but now that I only have 44 short days until the wedding I am going to make a conscience effort to update.  I am a day late but I love Mrs. Sutherland's weigh in Wednesday idea!  I will get on board with that next week, but for now I will update you all on progress thus far.  I joined Urban Active a little over a year ago, and also got a trainer.  I have been working out regularly since then, and I really loved my trainer, but he ended up leaving the gym so I was offered the option to do boot camp instead of one-on-one training.  Well I just thought my trainer before was really good, but now I realize he didn't really give me the push I needed, or the knowledge.  So as I said before at the beginning of this year I really began to get serious.  I started doing boot camp three times a week, and cardio the other three.  I will say it took me a while to get it right, but with the help of my awesome trainer I have realized exactly what it takes to see results.  The most important thing I have learned is losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise.  The two have be just right together to make it work, now I am speaking for myself and I am someone who has a hard time losing weight.  Some can drop lbs easily by changing one thing, but for me its not as easy.  I have learned so much on this journey, and have really made a complete lifestyle change, my MAIN problem were carbs, and I don't even think about eating them after lunch anymore.  At the beginning of the year I weighed 168, and I am happy to say that I now weigh 152!!! My goal was to weigh 130 by the wedding day, and I don't know if that will happen, but the most important thing is I feel great, and could not be more proud of myself.  I am going to make a conscience effort to continue my healthy lifestyle after my wedding , and hopefully keep the weight off!  I have to thank all my friends, family, and Luke for all the support they have given me=).

Bridal Portraits

Did any of you feel like you just wanted time to slow down when you were planning your wedding??  Its funny because I feel like I have been engaged forever, and thought the day would NEVER come, but I feel like these past three months have gone by so fast!  I just want to rewind and slow it down ha ha.  I have enjoyed every single minute of it, but I just don't want to feel like I blink and its all over with(I'm not sure if there is anything to do to change that though).  Don't get me wrong I could not be more excited about marrying Luke and starting our life together, I just think I need to take a step back and take deep breaths.  Yesterday was yet another confirmation that the big day is right around the corner.....my bridal portraits!  I was actually thinking about it before we went out there and wondering if  people still took bridal pics?  My sister had them done so we didn't think anything about it, but I was just curious if it was still the norm.  I don't think we could have asked for better weather, a little cloudy with a nice cool breeze.  My photographer Dale Dorman is just wonderful, and Cedarwood provided the perfect setting.  Every time I go out there I fall more in love with it especially now that everything is starting to bloom.  After taking bridal portraits I would DEFINITELY recommend getting them, its just nice and relaxing and you get it out of the way so that isn't one more thing to worry about the day of the wedding.  It's also nice to test out and see exactly how you are going to look on your wedding day (I have to say I was pleased ha ha), and decide if you want to change anything, which also takes stress off of you the day of.  I cannot wait to see these pictures, and I wish I could share them with everyone, but I think I will keep them to myself until after the wedding, but I'll blog about them and set it to post while I'm on the honeymoon=).

What a nice surprise!

I contacted Kathy at modern polkadot a few weeks back about revamping my blog, because I am just not good at it nor do I have the time to do it.  I logged into my account today, and my gorgeous new blog design was posted!  I absolutely love it, and could never have done something so perfect.  Thanks so much Kathy!!!

The First Hurdle....

Well as everyone has told me something ALWAYS goes wrong when you are planning a wedding, I am getting to experience the furst MAJOR dilemma.  I got a call Friday afternoon(keep in mind my invitaions were supposed to go out Monday) from the hotel that I had rooms blocked saying that all the rooms I had blocked had gotten released.  So normally it wouldnt be a big deal, however in my infinite wisdom I thought it would be a good idea to get married on CMA fest weekend.  So for any of you who are familiar with the festival, it is probably Nashville's biggest event so people come from far and wide.  Well lucky for me all these people have booked just about every hotel in Nashville.  Now normally I LOVE this event and usually attend the concerts, but after this I think I will forever hold a grudge against the event, and all the tourists who attend ha ha.  I feel like I have called EVERY hotel in Nashville, and they are either booked or will not block rooms for that weekend.  My poor mom has been working herself to death as well looking for rooms, but we are just not having much luck since the wedding is two months away.  I will say we are not completly out of luck we have found a couple of hotels, but they are not quite as close to my venue as I was hoping, but I am confident that it will not keep my closest friends and family from coming to my wedding=).  We are still working on things and waiting for a few calls back, but HOPEFULLY we will have this problem fixed and my invites can go out by the end of the week.  Everyone please say a prayer for my sanity ha ha

TWO MONTHS

I cannot believe after all this time I am only two short months away from my big day!!  I am feeling, excited, overwhelmed, and blessed.  I have been working my butt off these past few weeks getting everything together, and I have my veil, and jewelry checked off the list, and next I just have to get my shoes!  I have been working with Carrie at http://www.etsy.com/shop/ellapearlbycarrie on making my bridesmaids earrings, and she has come up with some gorgeous earrings and I cannot wait to see them!  I will post a picture when I get them=).  I also ordered another part of my bridesmaids gifts which I cannot tell you all about yet, but I will eventually=).  This past weekend Luke's sister had me a Pampered Chef shower and it was amazing!  I have never been to  a PS party, and it was so neat.  Their products are amazing, and I can't wait to put all my goodies to good use!  I have my bridal portraits next Thursday so I will be a busy bee getting everything ready for that between now and then!  I hope everyone is having a good week, and enjoying the gorgeous weather=)

Easter Weekend!

We could not have asked for better weather on Easter!  I cooked until 10:30 Saturday night, and woke up at 6:30 Sunday morning to finish up!  Then we went to church with the family, and had brunch with Luke's family.  After we finised there we headed to my family's easter lunch...needless to say it was a day full of eating ha ha.  Since I gave up potatoes and sweets for lent I was sure to have my fair share on Sunday before getting back to the grind with my diet yesterday.  Since all things revolve around Macy Kate thats all i really have pictures of from Easter ha ha...can you tell she is spoiled?  Here she is getting her easter basket

and this is her cute little easter dress

She had such a good time hunting easter eggs, although she liked taking them out of the basket more than putting them in ha ha.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week, and enjoying the weather!
